Positions of Responsibility

I am currently manage the production for one of Venture busiest photographic studios. My role includes retouching, quality control, FTP ordering and I.T. maintenance.

I was the senior cardroom supervisor at the Nottingham International Casino. I had the sole responsibility for running three poker tournaments a week. Each tournament, requires management of about 50 customers and several thousand pounds.

I have been entrusted with the keys to the dubble bubble night club and was responsible for opening the club and setting up the bands every weekend. As well as designing and producing promotional work for the club.

In my second year at university I managed Ancaster Hall Bar. In that time I increased the profits to £30k, compared to the £6k loss the previous year. This restored the University’s confidence in student managed bars, the majority of which are run by professional managers.

I have been twice elected as course representative. This position required me to gauge student opinion and make their voice heard. In addition I have undergone training in committee and communication skills supplied by the university along with the post.

Work Experience

After graduation I spent 3 years promoting live music in Nottingham for NG1 VIBE. I designed posters, flyer's, CD covers and a colour magazine which was updated 2-3 times a week. In that time I became expert in CoralDRAW and Adobe Photo Deluxe. My work also included sound engineering and working as a booking agent for bands, clubs, pubs, cafes and bars. In that time I strengthened my business and communication skills, time management and planning.

In September 2001 an interest in poker led me to a job at the Gala International Casino in Nottingham. I set my sights on becoming cardroom supervisor. I started as a croupier then an inspector and quickly worked my way up to the position within 3 years. I design and produce posters and paperwork to make the running of the cardroom more efficient and effective. I was responsible for full training of senior staff to manage it in my absence. Working at the casino taught me much about big business, teamwork and organization.

During the 7 years I was at Gala I took two extended photography trips, 4 months in Cuba and Jamaica and 2 months in Egypt and Jordan. Travel Photography has taught me to think on my feet. I used these images to build my commercial stock portfolios and create my own photography website BenzWorld.

Interests

Photography is an all consuming passion for me in recent years. I the past I played electric guitar for 15 years. I also designed and built an electric guitar from scratch. In my time in Nottingham I played over fifty live music performances at least twenty venues.
