This is the stone circle at Arbor Low in the Peak District. Not quite as impressive as stone henge but very nice never the less. We also had the site to ourselves which would be very unlikely at stone henge. The henge dates from 2500 BC and is made up of a circular mound, 76 metres in diameter and 2 metres high which you can just see in the Gib Hill Panorama. There is an internal ditch about 1.5 metres in depth bounding the stones themselves. There are some 60 stones which have been laid flat at some point in history.
