Shot Notes

This is a Copper Mine in Wales. To add light to the darker areas of the image I increased the gamma value. Gamma shifts all the mid-tones towards the highlights or the shadows. By changing the Gamma value from 1 to 1.5 it increases the image brightness. I’ve added a faint mask over the brightest areas to preserve the detail.

Nice work on capturing this amazing location! Have you been to the National Show-caves in the Brecon Beacons? There are some great rock formations (including Nuns and Bacon shaped ones!)there that would make great photographs.

I will look them up next time I find myself in South Wales. My recent images have all come from one week in North Wales.
