Shot Notes
Last night we visited The Vault in Southport, Queensland, Australia. Despite having my camera on me I only took a handful of still shots. This is because I had been asked to help film two live songs by Lecia Louise. The Canon 5D mark II was the first DSLR to be able to shoot video, but it did come with some drawbacks. You cannot use the viewfinder when in video mode so I was holding almost 3kg of lens and camera out in front of me. That said, the image stabiliser on my lens did a very good job of keeping it steady so it gave me a lot more flexibility than using a tripod. The other challenge was the auto focus does not work in video mode so you need to focus manually using the LCD screen. This musician was from the other band on that night who played Latin Jazz. Unfortunately I can’t remember their name but if I find out I will post it up.
