Shot Notes
These are the remains of the Canungra sawmill which began in 1884. Try to imagine a giant steam engine attached to these blocks powering Australia’s largest softwood timber producer. 100 years after they ran out of trees to cut down the former mill town of Canungra finds itself as a hub for Birdies, Bikies and Bushwalkers. I am here to escape the humidity of the coast. The winter I just spent in the UK has reduced my tolerance for heat, however cool mountain air is never far away on most of Australia’s east coast.
