This is Venus Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, in South Australia. It is a small pretty seaside holiday town with an impressive curved jetty which was popular with fishing. Heading south is a wonderful coastline of craggy cliffs where Eagles and Osprey Nest.

Streaky Pier

This is a silhouette of the Pier at Streaky Bay in South Australia.

I have spent most of last week going over all the old posts in this blog. I have been adding tags and links to make the site easier to navigate. Travel and Stock Photography can encompass just about everything so it has been interesting to discover what the more common subjects have been. Circular Quay

This is Circular Quay in Sydney, Australia. I used the HSL / Grayscale panel in the Photoshop developer Camera RAW. This allows you so shift specific colours towards its neighbouring colours. In this case I used it to warm up the street lights and push the blues towards the purples. I also added the green reflection in the water.

Streaky Bay

This silhouette was taken at Streaky Bay in South Australia. We only stopped there briefly as there were no free campsites nearby. So far Western Australia and New South Wales have had the most free campsites and Victoria and South Australia have had the least.

Endeavour Replica

This is a replica of James Cooks Endeavour which was moored at the Central Pier of Melbournes Docklands. The nights are long these days in Melbourne and my new job has been keeping me busy. We went to see local band Bonjah on Friday night who are made up from people I work with. We were also impressed with their support act Mitch Davis & The Dawn Chorus who had come down from Queensland. I was tempted to take my big camera to the gig and post the results but as alcohol was involved I decided against it.

Hopetoun Evening

This silhouette was taken at the groyne in Hopetoun yesterday. Fishing is a popular sport in Australia and there are usually around a dozen people fishing at sunset in Hopetoun each night. The time here has flown by and its hard to believe we are half way through our six weeks work here. We have both really enjoyed working at The Deck and will miss it when we go. I’ve been updating The Decks Website this year and have just put the new site online. I have a few more bits to add but most of it is there. Let me know what you think.

Gull Thief

I took this shot on Sunday afternoon at Busselton which has a 1.9km Pier which seems to be home to a large number of fisherman of the human and bird variety. This opportunist was eyeing up the catch of an unsuspecting angler. After camping just outside Yallingup we have travelled down Caves Road stopping at Canal Rocks, Injidup Beach, Meekadarribee Falls, Margaret River and The Voyager Wine Estate before camping in the Jarrah and Karri Forests on Boranup Drive. The Phone reception has been limited here so I am currently posting this entry from The Deckchair Gourmet Cafe in Augusta which has free WiFi. The Van which Karen has named Blue Streak is holding up well and attracts admiring comments everywhere we pull up.
